2016 Club Championship
attached below are the final results of the 2016 club championships
A long overdue update on the standings of this years club championship competition. There have been a few races over the past few months, not least the Linlithgow 10k this weekend where it appears a record number of LAC athletes competed. There have also been some speedy times at the mile and a wee while ago at Dechmont Law 10k.
There are just 4 events left. 3 are open/floating events until the end of October. These are:
Any Half Marathon
Any Full Marathon
Some of you have already bagged your times on these events but you still have a month to lay down another time and another 5 attempts at parkrun.
Then the last event of the season is the Dundee Templeton 10miler on 6th November. This is a great race that LAC has supported over many years however, be warned it is a bit lumpy.
Note the result below do not include the floating events. If you have already completed one of the floating events please email your time to firstname.lastname@example.org

A great day weather wise (if a bit windy... but not on a par with previous years) saw a steady stream of LAC vests striding across the line after a tour of clackmannanshire. Many setting PB's along the way.

The races have been selected to represent the feedback from club members and provide a variety of events spread across the year. The events selected are, in the majority, local races that are easy to enter and represent the types of races that the current club members are targeting. Apologies if your favourite race is not in the list.
In the event of a tie, a head to head performance will be taken into consideration (first placed runner declared winner), followed by number of events completed (highest declared winner).
If an athlete completes more than 5 races, then the athlete’s best 5 will be taken into consideration.
It is an athlete’s responsibility to enter themselves for the designated races and cover the cost.
There will also be a prize awarded for the best male and best female based upon a handicap scoring system. The handicap for each athlete will be calculated before the first event of the year (Alloa half marathon) against the fastest 10k time by a senior athlete in 2015. Therefore, to be considered for the handicap prize you must provide your own personal fastest 10k time of 2015. If you do not have a 10k time, then please provide your fastest 5k time. If you have neither of these please get in touch. Your handicap time should be emailed to John Redding at email@example.com under the subject “2016 club championship handicap”.
In the interests of being fair, open and honest if there is anyone who would like to know more about how the handicap will be calculated please contact John Redding at the above email address.
There will also be an individual male and female prize for the best age graded performance according to WAVA. This can only be calculated on standard race distances (i.e. 5k, 10k etc) therefore will not apply to Dumyat and Blackrock 5.
You will also have received notification of our cross country championship competition. This will be scored in a similar fashion (100pts for winner, 99 for second etc). There are 6 races of which 3 must be completed to be eligible. Individual male and female prizes will be awarded for the winners.
The Cross Country events are:
1. East District League – Broxburn – 16th Jan
2. National Championships – Callendar Park – 27th Feb

4. National Short Course Championship – Bellahouston – October (details TBC)
