Summer is here (someone needs to tell the weather) and Linlithgow athletes have been involved in a number of events recently. Linlithgow athletes competed well in the second Forth Valley League meeting at Grangemouth on 19th May while John Redding was the sole Club representative at the Livingston Open on 30th May running the 1500m in 4:45. The senior club kicked off it's Grand Prix at the Dumyat Hill Race with David Mason being first Linlithgow man home and Paul Dudchenko and Johan Mientjies also picking up points. Johan was apparently running incognito under his hill running pseudonym on Mintes Jahan. At Dechmont Law Johan lead home myself Malcolm Hughes and Graham Burrows to put himself in pole position overall, probably, once we've worked out how the scoring works.
Our juniors were well represented at Dechmont with fine runs from Alison Bryce, Louise Paterson, her brother Jamie and Eoin Richardson. Full junior results are here
Graeme Lawson has managed two half marathon PBs in as many weekends, first at the Mull of Kintyre and last weekend at the equally majestically scenic West Lothian Run half marathon. He is in trainig for arguably the first modern Olympic marathon at Wenlock (modern in that we're excluding that one following the famous Greek victory against the Persians - a feat that they couldn't repeat against the Poles last weekend).
There are still places on offer in our Round Table fun day team event. It would be great if we could get some more of our young athletes (aged 9-12) involved as it will be a fun event and raises money for good causes including ourselves!
