The Law Breaker hill race took place on Wednesday 25 June, forming part of the Bog and Burn series of midweek evening races. Beginning at the Tillicoultry Mill Glen car park, the route climbs steeply up above the glen, and onto the lung bursting ascent to the summit of The Law. After circling the marshall at the top of the hill, the descent was described as being just as tough on the legs due to the steepness of the slopes. The total race distance was approx 5.4K, with an ascent of 663 metres. 91 weary runners completed the race. From Linlithgow AC, Paul Dudchenko was 51st in 52:16, and Jill Horsburgh was 82nd in 70:05.
Continuing the challenge to visit all the Scottish parkruns this year, 4 club members headed to Greenock parkrun at the weekend. The flat course is along the promenade, with fantastic views across the River Clyde to Helensburgh and the hills and mountains of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
The trip was a success for the Linlithgow ladies, who took 3 out of the top 4 places. Charlotte Fortune was 1st Female (17th overall) in 19:42, Hilary Stocks was 3rd Female (27th overall) with a new 5K PB of 21:42 while Jill Horsburgh was 4th Female (39th overall) in 24:47. Meanwhile Scott Hyslop was first back for the club, finishing 16th overall with a time of 19:41.
